That'd be great, thanks jelv - I'll get that sorted.

Re: E100 Wireshark Trial - what's all this then?

Hi Matt,
I use a couple of different VPNs, a mix of corporate and consumer grade stuff as well as various ssh connections and tunnels for remote access at home.  (I have a fast mobile broadband connection as backup in case this all goes pear shaped!).
I also do some PS3 gaming, and a limited amount of PC gaming but I do play a fair bit of online poker - a more rewarding online gaming experience Wink  Other than that, bit of TV streaming services.
I know my way around wireshark so happy to give this a try if this kind of profile would be helpful.
Kind regards,
Paul

Not needed! If it goes wrong you just revert to your normal login.

Re: E100 Wireshark Trial - what's all this then?

Right.
Really sorry for the delay, everything is now in place and I'll be dropping you all a PM with the usernames and passwords of your trial accounts shortly.
Also, just wanting to give you a heads up - we will shortly (as in today) be announcing that we're moving some live customers onto the new platform by the means of virtual routes on certain gateways.
Please, please don't think that this either means that we've rushed things and haven't tested, or even worse that there's no point in you guys doing this. There absolutely is.
As I said in my initial post, we've got by far the majority of traffic signatures on there. As with the current E30 platform there'll always be one or two tricky protocols that haven't been picked up - possibly one or two more in this case as we can't catch everything (though we've got what our staff could). Any traffic that is not behaving properly we'll need a wireshark capture file for, which is what we're hoping you guys will be able to provide - this will then let us improve the experience with everyone. Even after this platform has gone fully live we're hoping that you'll still be willing to do a quick capture if something's not working (plus of course you get the extra usage on these accounts as dsw mentions Wink )
Right I'll sign off there and start sending PMs. Once again, thanks very much.

Will those customers be informed or is there a list of gateways which are being moved.
The reason for asking is that where a poster suddenly finds something isn't working as it used to it is one thing to check.
Would a tracert show the change as a different routing

The list of gateways is on the service status post.

In all honesty I'd be very surprised if anyone came across something not working

I don't believe so, no - the ellacoya switches are transparent on a traceroute so it'd still show the gateway and then the next hop as it does now.

Re: E100 Wireshark Trial - what's all this then?

Apologies, forgot to add earlier - when you're using the test logins you'll get a fair few failed connections, as only 1 in 5 gateways are enabled for those logins so don't worry if it rejects. I'm afraid you'll just need to retry until you get a working connection, it shouldn't take long though.
By retry I don't mean resync Smiley Just reattempt the connection.

Re: E100 Wireshark Trial - what's all this then?

Thanks Matt! I assume these details work in the same way as any other? I.e you won't track exactly which URLs are visited etc for those of us who use our connections for work and have access to systems which aren't public?

Connected at first attempt and all looking good.
I've wiresharked connecting and using the VPN and everything came in as x80.

Connected 1st attempt for me too.
Promise to settle down into a bit of work soon to check out the various VPNs & tunnels (rather than spend the afternoon on the PS3 or playing poker!), will let you know if I spot any issues.

Spoke too soon.  Just had a connection dropout, and reconnect.  Router lost IP address temporarily.
Teething issues?
