wireless modem/router security

OK I've got the equipment and I'm ready to set up my wireless network! But I've been told that security is an issue, because of the "wireless" bit. I've heard of people driving around with a laptop, looking for networks to hack into.

(sounds paranoid I know) Wink but the router can have a 100m range, easily good enough to reach the road.

Is there a tutorial for ensuring that my network is secure (I'm operating on XP Home edition SP2) with a Belkin modem with wireless G router

Hi John,

In most instances enabling WEP and hiding the SSID will be plenty to ensure that no-one finds your wireless network.
I'll ask the Tutorial team if they fancy writing a tutorial on wireless security.
