possible worm infection!

hi
i wonder if anyone can help i get an ie pop up from FOL every so often , advising that they have blocked port 135 on my connection because of a possible worm infection.

i have run serveral different virus scans of all the computers on the network, all of which come back with no infestation.

any idea's?

thanks

Hi

This looks like a standard, annoying pop-up / advert.
I would suggest that you just block them. (Win XP SP2 does it pretty well, or I've used other pop-up blockers in the past) Smiley

Have you had a look at your firewall logs? - that could give you some idea of what's generating the 135 traffic.

Also run a check for spyware.

It certainly isn't a popup advert - this is Plusnet not Tiscali or NTL !!! - and something somewhere on your network is triggering it.

Good hunting

thanks for replying,
i run windows 2003 and exchange, if i block 135 the exchange clients on the internal network cannot update.

i've looked through routing and remote access logs on the server and it looks like it coming from there and going to it self from port 3705 and 6 to 135

any idea's again?

thanks
