overseas postage

i need to get a faulty Maxtor hard drive to the irish republic with some sort of tracking. i got a quote from DHL for £25 which being more than half the price of the drive in the first place didn't seem worth my while, just as well to cut my loses and run. i have since had a surf around royal mail and found the best they can do is £9 approx.for a tree day tracked which isn't so bad. just wondering if anyone has any tips to save me a few quid. the whole thing inc. drive and packaging is about 700g.

i see what you mean about poor website. think i might have to go with Royal Mail, least i'll know who lost my drive. still was worth a try to see if anyone out in "PN World" knew of a better solution thanks for all the input.

I send parcels abroad every now and then.
I'd always go with royal mail, they do loose thing and can take thier time sometimes, but they dont over charge and other couriers loose stuff just as often.
