mySQL Data Load Local

I need to load data from a text file on my PC to a mySQL database on force9. The upload functionality in phpMySQLAdmin returns with the error
#1148 - The used command is not allowed with this MySQL version

This error is normally generated when the LOAD LOCAL support in mySQL is turned off - usually to prevent any potential security issues. Given that, what mechanism do you suggest for loading data into tables in mySQL on force9. SOmeone must have done this - there must be a way. Please help...

PS here is the generated SQL

LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE '/tmp/php8tGXck' INTO TABLE `contents_japan` LINES TERMINATED BY '\r\n'

If you have the SQL files could you not use http://mysql.force9.net/ to run them?

The advice still stands, can't you run the SQL through http://mysql.f9.net.uk/ and not the previous URL?

LOAD DATA command in phpMyAdmin at http://mysql.f9.net.uk/ doesn't work either, anybody have an idea how to import data into tables?

I know the SQL "INSERT" statement definitely works.

I assume the problem with LOAD DATA [LOCAL] is specifying a file which the database server can locate and read.

You could try by grabbing a copy of MySQL Front from http://www.mysqlfront.de/
and using the character delimited import facilty after logging MySQL front onto the F9 MySQL instance.

maybe the fastest way is to make a backup of your table using the my-sql on the portal download this file, then cut and paste your data in that file. lastly upload the whole thing to your cgi-bin and the run the file from your browser. this should populate the table.
