on further investigation...

On further investigation it seems that the 'move_uploaded_file' doesnt have permission to my cgi web space.

it gives the following errors:

########
Warning: move_uploaded_file(/files/home/jarvis/newpic.JPG): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /files/home/jarvis/sunnydays/upload.php on line 10

Warning: move_uploaded_file(): Unable to move '/var/tmp/phpH1ULGY' to '/files/home/jarvis/newpic.JPG' in /files/home/jarvis/sunnydays/upload.php on line 10
########

I get an error=0 for the upload so its definately getting to the server.

I am using the standard examples on php manual.

Does anyone have any suggestions / alternatives?

Thanks in advance!

You are trying to move it to /files/home/jarvis/ which is probably not writable by the server. It would need to be chmod'ed to something like 707.

Try setting the permissions for your "sunnydays/upload" directory to 0707 (rwx---rwx).
