As Chris says there are plenty of downloadable application you could use.
But do make sure that if you are going to start downloading files from others that you have a good Anti Virus software installed.

Not that plusnet condones the use of p2p applications to share copyrighted material...

Correct. The downloading if copyright material is against the law without the consent of the copyright owner and is not condoned by Plusnet.

Does Plusnet throttle ports that are used by Kazaa as my download rates are significantly lower than usual and have been like this since Friday last. cant seem to get more than 20k when I usually get 60. Any comment +Net?

As noted accross this thread.

No, no throttling takes place at all on any of the +Net platform. Only blocks on the HomeSurf accounts (which are noted).

P2P application are affected by many issues. Including:

The person uploading to you. They may be well speed limited

Your uploads and downloads. While you may only be using small amounts of bandwidth on your computer, they can drasticly affect P2P apps.

Bad routing. The route data takes accross the internet may not be all that good.

Somebody has sugested that some downloads come via your supernode. You may be on a slow or clogged supernode.
