What to backup up

I have been using FOL CGI space to run an application using PHP and MySQL. There was a problem with a server a few weeks ago and my application disappeared. I was told that I would need to restore from my own backups. Fortunately, when I re-installed the application code, I found the MySQL data was still there.

It seems that the PHP code is not backed up by FOL. Is the MySQL data backed up by FOL or should I be backing that up myself.

Regards

Terry

What to backup up

We do keep backups of the data, its just that the issue we had towards the end of last year occured during the time that the backup was being run, which left those customers who were affected without a backup that we could restore from.

That being said, we would always advise that you as the customer keep a full backup of all your data, and this is also part of the Ts&Cs attached to the webspace.

What to backup up

Depending on what your running you can usually do a MySql backup through your php site, if this isn't an option you can use phpmyadmin through the portal
