Web site Help Pleeease.....!

I'm using FP 2000 for an e-commerce website and have found that i will need more than fp can offer with plus.net.
I've downloaded dreamweaver trial version and need to know what "Server Technologies" i'm supposed to select.
Also, can I test the new dreamweaver site using ftp to "My Webspace", whilst still keeping my FP site online also Huh?...?
Thanks in advance for any help offered....

Yes you can.
The Frontpage and htdocs are totally seperate so you can have both up at once.
You do use a different URL for frontpage http://fp.username...... as opposed to http://www.username...........

Thanks John,
I'm thinking of getting a profesional to do all this...I've put about 6 hours a day X 7 days a week for the last three months into this project and each learning curve is just the tip of the iceburg....Titanic type !!!!
Feeling really $$$$$ off with bloomin "Puters"...It's Saturday night and I'm stuck at this screen...I'm going to pop a cork, phone a friend, put my feet up....and try to ignore this diabolical new age instrument of torture!!!!...
Thanks for replying,
Chances are that I will get over it and stay as stubborn and commited come monday at 5am !..

WoW
I can see why you have got a headache with the site!
It is quite an undertaking but you seem to have got to grips with it very well and it all seems to work.

I thought that my site for the Heywood Model Railway Group www.hmrg.co.uk was complicated but it's nothing compared with yours.
If you do want to have a look at the railway site it is off the air for the moment(just a page in black for now) in respect of the Treasurer of the club who died suddenly on Friday.
I will put it all back up after his funeral which will probably be late next week.

Good luck with your flower site.

RE: Web site Help Pleeease.....!

Hi John,
Thanks for looking at my site.
Sorry about the treasurer..
I will definately bookmark and look at your site later in the week.
I did not wait till Monday...4.48pm Sunday morning !
Managed to finish the descriptions. Now just have to change all the Glaze options to Attachment options....Thats before I HTML all the paypal codes, and before I change the site over to Dreamweaver and incorporate databases!! BTW I managed to get somwhere with Dreamweaver when I first had a twiddle with it, now I seem to have lost the plot and cannot do a thing with it!!!
Yes I am really going to get a professional to finish the site....

Thanks for looking at the site and replying

Hi read the thread and after the 'Wow' comment thought I'd have a look at your site.

Pretty good.

just in case you've missed it you've got a broken link at the Home button. Its only broken when you are already on the index page. This is because the link points to index.htm and your page is named index.html

Only other comment is that you've not entered any metatag keywords or description in your index page. I'd enter these now as search engines will rank you very low otherwise.

RE: Web site Help Pleeease.....!

Thanks Cliff,
I tried to fix the htm_html Home link problem, but though it seemed easy at first, when I started meddling it seemed like it was going to open a can of worms!
I have not put the whatever it is search engines need yet, as I have not got that far, and the site's not ready..........(Will it ever be?)
Thanks for looking and helping out...
PS: I contacted a professional web developer by e-mail....He's just totally blanked me!!!...
and now every time I install PWS with the NEW MTSsetup.dll, to test Dreamweaver with, I loose Windows Explorer, and have to reformat...3 times now..!!!!
It's frustrating to know so little.
Oh well, guess I have to just keep plugging on.
