Stumped! cgi?, php?, sql?

Totally lost now..!
I've been trying for about 4 weeks to sort out these diabolical databases.
It's probably a lot to ask, but I've downloaded about 20 free shopping cart scripts, that somehow have to get into MySQL? or cgi-bin?
Would some one please post one of them up for me...I've been taking an online course in SQL, RE:

http://www.sqlcourse.com/ (Very good)

But I'm still way behind..
Thanks either way
Mandy

Why bother with all this headache take a look at
http://www.mals-e.com/
Its free its great its easy to do what more could you ask. I have used it at
www.blocksealer.co.uk

and its a secure server people may not us a cart unless it uses a secure server(not if they have any sense)

For Mysql I assume you have activated it on the portal? All the details are on the portal or try the CGI group forum. But Mals is a lot better unless you are doing stocktaking as well.

> Thanks Jan,
I've already tried Mal's, and it's excellent, but I need to process my payments through Paypal. When you try to do that with Mal's cart, the customer has to enter their invoice details twice, once for Mal's then again for Paypal.
I'd like to post to the cgi forum, but I can't even connect to my cgi-bin, even if I could, I would'nt know what to do...I've learnt how to create sql tables, and enter data, but how you implement it with the ones on Plusnet is beyond me...
My next step is to try a walk through set-up with one of the cart scripts I have which seems to have an .exe that you open once it's inside a cgi-bin? folder....Unless of course some one who knows what their doing will do it for me.....
Thanks again,
Hanging in there....!

I didn't think that it was terribly well documented either...

You need to FTP your files to criticalmass.plus.com. If they're *.pl or *.cgi scripts they need to go in the cgi-bin directory; if they're *.php files they can go anywhere. Once your files are there you can then telnet/ssh to the same machine to create tables or data or run setup scripts.

However, if it is actually an EXE file then it won't work. The CGI server runs Linux not Windows.
