it's not breaking any of the rules, so no, let this thread live on

now if you were to call me a f*** witt, or say something derogatory about my mother, then thats personal, then i would encourage lockage

gpattison,

Do you have a particular problem with a moderator's actions? If so have you raised it?

Chris, Obviously I can't speak for Geoff, but I think you will find http://www.plusnetters.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=145]this explains the poll ;-)

Should the Mods lock this thread?

Two questions;

1) Is the free subscription to Tiscali compulsory?
2) If I vote no will my username be passed on to MI5 as a terrorist threat?

All threads should be locked as soon as they are started - that way the mods can't be accused of employing double standards.

It would make reading the forums much faster also. Wink

You can call me Geoff.
I'd have thought you'd know that I'm a big supporter of you guys, and that I'm always amazed at the restraint you show and the abuse you're prepared to take.
I couldn't do your job in a million years as my view on free speech is slightly more restrictive than that of Robert Mugabe. Tongue I'd lock most of the threads and ban quite a few of the people before my first day of moderating was done.

If I did have a particular problem, and it mattered to me, then of course I'd let you know. Odd that you put up with so much from your detractors, but take offence at a nonsense poll by one of your supporters.

ps. The vote seems to be in favour of locking the thread, so I'll report the admitted terrorists to the CIA and you can lock the thread.

Fair enough, sorry Geoff if I over reacted a bit. Shockedops:

There's some good ideas here, but I think locking all the threads would be pointless, since I'd just ban all the users but the moderators, thus saving the need to lock threads since non would be created.

Or we could just make the forums read only and that would remove the need for any moderators.

It's possible to do away with the forums and be done with it all

Indeed but then plusnetters would no longer be the haven it is from all the arguing ;-)
