SSL on CGI server?

Am I right in assuming that you cannot secure a page on the cgi server, only on homepages? The https prefix doesn't seem to work with any crofters-based site. How do people host e-commerce applications with F9 if they cannot use SSL to transmit credit card data etc?

SSL on CGI server?

Can't answer the bit about how people run e-commerce stuff on F9 servers, although this CGI support page talks about running Actinic Catalog. This support page (which I guess you've seen) seems to imply that SSL is only available from the homepages server.

This old forum topic says:
Quote
"HTTPS/SSL web encryption security on the CGI server."
"This was discussed in the meeting regarding the CGI servers. The outcome was that we cannot run an SSL service on a server that has shell access, this is for security reasons."

So no joy then.. Sad

SSL on CGI server?

I had a feeling you couldn't do it, but thanks for confirming my suspicions. So, my next question is does anyone run a secure e-commerce solution on F9 and, if so, how?

S.
