RE: Running a MUD on my computer

ok well it appears that it is indeed a adsl problem.

if i connect using my dial up - other ppl can connect to the mud happily.

so what is it i have to do wif my adsl for that to accept ppl connecting to my port 4000 ?

thanks

RE: Running a MUD on my computer

This is that your router needs configuring.

With dial-up, your computer is directly conected to the internet, and any connection attempts go directly to the ocmputer.

With a router, unless the router has some form of rules, specifying where the connection should be forwarded to, then it drops it.

Read the documentation that came with the router (possibly on a CD in PDF format) regarding, how setup a forwarding port.

It may also help is you post the make and model of the router, so that others can post instructions.

RE: Running a MUD on my computer

You will have to setup port redirecting on the router to port 4000 - if U post the make and model as suggested then people with experience of your model will be able to help.

Find a job you love and you will never have to work again?
