Redirecting a hosted domain to the CGI server

I currently host an external .me.uk domain on Force9 which I wish to use with PHP/MySQL. As standard, the setup allows me to redirect to a subdirectory on the homepages server, which (unless I am mistaken) only allows me to use static pages.

What I wish to do is to use Mambo CMS with PHP/MySQL. Can I use the DNS records to point my domain to cgi.futura.force9.co.uk?

If not, can anyone suggest an alternative? I have considered using a frame hosted on the homepages server, but this is search engine death! Is there an alternative that I havent thought of? Will the DNS records option work, and if so, is it as simple as entering left: mydomain.me.uk, type A, right: cgi.futura.force9.co.uk?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks anyway. Still, can someone explain what "basic" cgi means?
