Need path to html files within script

I have a script that needs to know the location of the html files on the web server. As the cgi and http server are different I need the full path. I have asked Force9 tech support, and they can't tell me?

Why don't you make things easier for yourself and move all of your site to the cgi server? This is allowed and you can use your full webspace quota if you like. This way you don't have to worrt about the difference between servers.

There's a clue about the paths in the .htaccess Tutorial (the section on password protection). It gives the path to your htdocs directory on the homepages server as:
    /share/isp/force9/www/uu/username/htdocs
For the CGI server, you can log on and use the pwd command to display the path of the current directory. The .htaccess tutorial gives the home directory as
    /files/home/username.
Note:
    uu = the first two characters of your username
    and
    username = your username.

There is no way to access homepages (the www.username.force9.co.uk server) from the CGI Platform using paths.
