Internal Server Error

I am trying to install a script, have previosly been advised by F9 to use .pl extensions for my scripts instead of CGI.
Have followed all the instructions for the script, chmod to 755, but continously recieve the following error when trying to run the script :

Quote
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, support@force9.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

HELP!! I have tried everything I can think of with the script to get it working, I know it used to work on the old platform but I cannot get it to work on the new one.

What sort of script is it? If you put -w at the end of the shebang line, doesn't it show the faults in your browser, or is it -wt? Failing that, try runing the script through telnet using putty or something similar, that usually tells you whee the fault lies.
