I thought you might say that. I've been pretty busy with the plusnetters portal and Grasshoppers Yearbook on top of college work I'll update it when I get a minute; though no promises this time ;-)

Got it back; no thanks to the RM tech - they restored the same bloody file.

I found it in a folder elsewhere the version recent documents was pointing to can't have been the one...

Belive me I wish the college didn't; they've got some HP machines for fiddling with which are probably better!

At school it was also RM. They couldn't change the time on the PC's (it was wrong on every machine) because and I quote "the network would crash".

Nah; they did with their win 98 stuff but not with XP.

There's a new toy (only for the teachers though :-( )

RM Tutor 2

They can view your screen
Take control;
Log you off;
Turn your machine off;
Show you what's on their screen;
Block you out of the machine to get your attention (I'll see if I can get a print screen of this).
and other stuff.

One say at college the teacher had left the machine logged on after the lesson.

One of the "Students" (now suspended on a different matter) went on RM tutor and took control of my machine (whilst I was on here) and started typing not very nice (warning / ban?) stuff.

I had to turn the machine off to stop them posting it!

RM? as in Research Machines? The people behind the RM Nimbus in the early 90's? I didn't think they were still going!
My first high school used a RM network, never had too many problems with it, apart from the drives crashing too frequently.

Ahh nostalga, where would we be without you Smiley

I'm just glad Stirling Council didn't go the RM route when they put computers in - both back when I was a pupil and now I work for them :lol:

Hey, we had RM at our school in a few of the rooms for a few years. It was VERY unstable. We aree now on Novell which is about 500% worse than RM was Cheesy
