Hi-Fi CD Changing Problems ?

Hi just wondered if anyone could help...............I have a 'Kenwood' Hi-Fi system with a 3 CD Changer.........

The problem is it won't play the first CD sometimes, just goes to next CD & so on , not playing any sometimes.......Sometimes after switching on & off , it will play..........also on random play it won't select from all three CD's just 2 or just the one ?

Must be the 'Changer system' ?

Tried lens cleaner & the same would happen, not play ....say no disk...

Just wondered if anyone had the same problem ?

Never had a problem with any systems I've had!

Any suggestions as to best place .......to be sorted, unsure as to who fixes H-Fi's etc

Appreciate any comments, suggestions

Thx

Hi-Fi CD Changing Problems ?

I have an AIWA cd changer that is prone to the same thing. Just tries every cd slot and then gives up.

The only way I have found to cure it is to clean the Lazer and sensor with a tooth brush. Ordinary cd cleaning disks dont work presumably because it cant initialy see it to let it start the cleaning.

The tooth brush works every time. Cheesy

You may need to undo a few screws though to get to the Lazer head.

Yes on mine a couple of screws at the back release the top which then lifts off so you can see the sensor.
As Chris has said make sure there is no toothpaste on the brush.

Hi-Fi CD Changing Problems ?

Personally I use cotton wool buds (like for cleaning your ears) although they can probably leave bits on the lense.

Oooh that would be good, make sure you include about the different sizes and types available - and how to really dig around to make sure you clear it all out...
