Help with creating MX records

I am trying to set up exchange server at home but am having problems creating MX records on the plus net side. Pulled off the help file and enter what they advise, but I keep getting an error message saying "can not fill left field of MX record"

Anyone setup exchange on here. If so need some help

Thanks in advance

Not using Exchange but here is my setup
Left field Type Pri Right field
mail.waynessa.co.uk a 212.159.87.144
mx 4 mail.waynessa.co.uk.

As you can see, the left field is empty on the MX record. The A record isn't especially important but I wanted to use a name that matched my domain, rather then the one PlusNet provided.

Hope this helps.

OK that didn't quite show but trust me, the left field is blank in the MX record!!

Left: <nothing>
Type: MX
Pri: 4 --> 4 or 5 is a reasonable number here
Right: <username>.plus.com

I have entered everything as you advised but I am still having problems recieving my emails. Did you get your emails ok when you first set up the records?

Have you checked what other think your records look like? It may take some time to get picked up by the machines trying to send the email to you.
The are quite a few web based DNS lookups - one of the easiest is at:
