Getting New Wireless MIMO router, is it ok?

javis check out your PC world in Sheffield and they'll have loads of the Belkin Pre-N (MIMO) Routers in stock, i wouldnt recommend buying it as you dont have ADSL i presume, get the one im getting, its will work with ADSL, if you do get a MIMO one!

Is this set-up ok? I used to have a belkin pre-n router but then realised it doesnt work with ADSL unless you have an extra ADSL router with it.

Hi garytester,

I have to say that I think you would be better off buying a router with built in modem. If you like the D-Link hardware, you may want to look at buying the following package:

and then all you need is a PCI adapter for your PC... cant really speak for PCI adapters, so the solwise may be fine. I have heard that you are best buying same brand wireless stuff, btu the reviews for D-Link are not very good for PCI, which is probably why you chose the solwise in the first place Wink Another one to consider with ok reviews....

Hope that helps!!

ive seen that one but i really need one with MIMO, for its speed and its coverage. in the past ive had a MIMO router and it was excellant and 54g one that came with BAD lag in games. i couldnt keep the belkin MIMO one cas it wasnt for ADSL.

aha this is where my experience ends! This is the first time I have heard of MIMO.

Have read about it and it looks good. Does it really have that much extra coverage at that speedHuh

Hell Yeah, something like 800% more coverage than 54g and 600% faster. It really is!

I used to play Battlefield Vietnam over the Belkin Pre-N (MIMO) i used to have and never lagged or jogged etc. at all. great piece of kit. I had serious lag on my old Belkin 54g. This was when i played a LAN game by the way.

Soon i will get the D-Link (MIMO) router which is ADSL compatible if you have a DSL-300T ethernet modem which i already have.
