You know, I dread to think what the combined electricity bill of the residents of Clowne comes to... :?

I find the top one a little sinister to be honest, rather scary in some ways, and whats with the music, the lights were going in time with it, so I can only presume the music was used to activate the lights, OR was written especially for that video?

In Clowne, it started off as a bit of a competition between two neighbours, progressing to three.

Over time it moved on so that it became something of a local/regional attraction. They use the opportunity to collect for local childrens charities.

There used to be a chap who would dress up as Santa Claus and entertain the children, all he asked was a donation to whatever charity was being collected for that year - sadly the chap passed away a couple of years ago. I don't think he has been replaced by another resident. Preffering to remember the kind chap.

It actually stretches around two streets, if anyone has the opportunity to visit the area, I would - it really is quite good.

Some years they even turn caravans in the front garden into mini Santa's workshops!

PS. Its not me singing porky pig either!

Superb, and but for that last link I'd have sworn it was a fake too.
Still, it must be a more productive way of passing your time than sitting looking at these forums

The town being mentioned by chesterfield is indeed worth a trip if you're not far away.

It's the village next to mine (I live in creswell) and we go for a wander round every year. Some of the stuff they do is amazing.

FYI the area is called Northfields and kids love it!
