DRINK DRIVING CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN

Last Christmas we launched a campaign in North London to root out drink drivers. Just one glass of wine/beer can put some people over the limit. The only way of knowing is a Police issued Brethaliser test.
Last year we managed to get 23 people to sit in pubs, wine bars, and restaurants on random days in December and whilst these 23 persons were enjoying themselves without a vehicle, they watched people confirmed to have vehicles who were drinking. When they left, our people followed them to confirm that they would be driving afterwards. The Police were then called on mobiles and in many cases the drink drivers were intercepted by the Police and Breathalised and or arrested.

We are continuing are campaign this year. We now have 31 people to help us. Many of whom have lost close friends and relatives in drink driving accidents.

The campaign will now cover both North and North West London and parts of South West London. Are aim is hopefully NOTto catch people out but to get a message across. "DON'T DRINK ALCOHOL AT ALL WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO DRIVE"

If you are going out to drink, whether with a meal or not, leave the car at home and take public transport or a taxi or a minicab.

!!!!!!!!!!DRINK DRIVERS ARE KILLING MACHINES!!!!!!!!!

RE: DRINK DRIVING CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN

Question:

If as you say- you do NOT intend to catch people out- I presume that as you and your colleages are 'watching' individuals drinking then you are also informing them of your actions, motives and intentions.
Or prehaps you are handing out 'Flyers' with your actions, motives and intentions printed upon them.

If you are not doing this, then how can you say you do NOT intend to catch people out. It appears to be a bit of a false statement.

Whilst your cause may be worthy regarding drink-driving I think prehaps you ought to re-think your strategy toward dealing with how it should be implemented. You may after all be putting your own safety in jeopardy as a result of your actions. (There are enough 'Nutters' out there who may not appreciate what you are teaching them!!!!).
