Coppermine Installation Problem

morning all,

tried to install Coppermine on my CCGI space last night, but wasn't succesful.

F9 advised to download the "gzip" version, but there is none. Sourceforge thinks the normal "zip" version should work too.

but I already had errors while unpacking zip file on server.

Anybody any success reports on how to do it properly?

If not, can anybody recommend similar gallery software?

Thanks all,

Robby

Although gzip is preferred on a *nix platform, you can get the zip file instead.

You can unzip it on the server with the following command:
unzip <file>

where <file> is the name of the zip file.

Coppermine Installation Problem

Tried using unzip <filename> and it worked.
Force9 install and setup instructions work, just need updating.
use zipfile instead of gzip, and use unzip <filename> instead of
tar xvzf ......... The rest stays the same.

Thanks very much for help

Coppermine Installation Problem

Indeed, the unzip works fine. Smiley

While fixing that bit of the doco (http://portal.f9.net.uk/support/webspace/cgi/cgi_tutorials/installing_coppermine.shtml?f9_session=...), maybe the bit that gives the URL of the coppermine directory could also be fixed from http://cgi.username.force9.co.uk to http://ccgi.username.force9.co.uk ?
