Hi, I just thought I'd ask if it's possible to right a CGI script that sits on a Solaris 2.8 server that runs system commands, mainly 'ps -ef' with some greping, and produce a web page following some simple analysis of the results. The tricky bit, or the tricky bit that I've found is that I need this command to be run on a total of 3 servers but from 1 CGI script sitting on 1 server, then have the output displayed via an Apache webserver on the Solaris server. I should probably point out that for security reasons, and generally the lack of need for it we are not using a rhosts file, so no rlogin's, just good old telnet.
Have I explained this well enough?
Please feel free to ask any questions, I'll do my best to answer them.
i think the best route would be to use a perl script to do your telnet to the other servers and then execute the ps -ef within perl and append the output to a file and repeat for the next server. then parse this file with the cgi
if the cgi is a perl script then this could be incorporated within that.
