I have noticed that you can buy a new faceplate for your master socket. This should eliminate any problems with the splitter not seating correctly. Now you can purchase these at a reasonable price. But according to BT you can't change this and if you do and any faults occur you will be charged £70 for the callout, then for whatever time engineer is on your premises for. This is charged per hourly rate and doesn't matter if they are there for 5 mins of 60mins you pay for 1 hour , and this is on top of the callout fee. This even goes if you want them to swap the faceplate over themselves.
I would have thought that the £70 included the first hour on site, as with most other companies this is included in the callout fee.
So can a user actually replace these faceplates themselves as your allowed to add extensions meaning you can remove the faceplate and reseat it. Wouldn't this just be the same..
