I have a webserver running on my pc that I would like to access externally of my network.
I connect to the internet through an ADSL gateway and I have manually set my ip address to be 192.168.0.2 where the gateway ip is 192.168.0.1.
I know that I have a static IP on my account, so how do I get my static IP to point to my pc with the IP address of 192.168.0.2? Is this a DNS issue that I need to configure on my gateway, or am I barking up the wrong tree?
I found out that to access a webserver on my network from across the internet, I used Port Forwarding on my gateway. I found this within the Firewall Rules section. Then I could choose which services I wanted to forward to which pc/server on my network.
