ADSL NOT FIXED!

ADSL Still not working

My diagnostics point to wrong static IP

I just checked my F9 Connection details and now
I have two static IP address ranges!

Do I have to change to the now range or
is it a mistake. A fixed IP address is not
supposed to change!!! It'll take weeks to
get Web DNS pointing to the correct one so
I don't want to change unless I have too.

RE: ADSL NOT FIXED!

Hi,

I should imagine that your problem is associated with the network upgrades that we have carried out today.

If this is the case I would recommend that you power cycle your system or router to see if that will give you a better output with your IP address information.

On the other hand, it may be worth calling our faults team on 0845 1400 2500 if the problem is still evident afer rebooting.

Best Regards,

Dave Watson.

RE: ADSL NOT FIXED!

3rd day and still nothing.

I'm not you avarage user. I have a
1st BSc (Hons) Computing, MCSE and
I work with Cisco routers every day
on the JANET network so I know when I'm
getting fobbed off.

It sounds like you've lost your technically
network aware staff and no-one knows how to
fix it.

Day 1 down. IP over PPP wasn't working. I
discovered I'd somehow got 2 fixed IP ranges
a 4 block and an 8 block!

Day 2 down. PPP okay, could reach your ADSL
Gateway, but not any of your Domain Name Servers
so still could use the internet

Day 3 down. IP over PPP not working again.

Regards - Ed (on a 56k modem!)

RE: ADSL NOT FIXED!

5 days down and still counting

Will someone at force 9 listen?

I've been given two IP ranges again.
We cannot authenticate against the 8 block
so no ADSL

I hope we will be getting some of our money back or I'll have to put in a charge back with the bank!

RE: ADSL NOT FIXED!

I gave up with online support so tried the telephone.

They said to power down the adsl modem/router for 20 mins. I was sceptical as I'd done a couple of power downs but not for that long, but it worked!
