Hi

I have a 2nd domain pointed to htdocs/seconddomain but when i type www.seconddomain.co.uk it shows the apache directory tree.If the index file is a .htm and not .php it woks fine! Other wise you need to type the index.php as the address...any ideas

So why will it work fine to access a index.htm file but not index.php?

Seems to only have this problem on my second domain.
My first domain is actuly pointed to my CGI space vis DNS.

John

The second domain is on the homepages server and so does not recognise the .php extension and shows you the directory tree - no server-side scripts on the homepages server I'm afraid!!

So even though i click on the directory tree and select index.php its fine?

yeah, if you go directly to the URL ('yourdomain.com/index.php') then the webserver will just send you the file, and your web browser will interpret that accordingly (in this case it sees the html tags and renders the web page).

The homepages web server is not set up to look for .php files when you access the root of the domain ('yourdomain.co.uk/'). The CGI server, however, is set up to look for .php extensions!

Hope that helps!
