That's the first I've heard of it, I'm assuming that the agent has got the wrong end of the stick.
*update*
I've just spoken to the agents in question and yes, you are affected by a problem which means your profile on our system will show as 'Not Set' or similar. I've produced a cunning workaround to update this and your profile on our side matches the BT one. Can you reboot your modem/router and try a speed test.

The next thing I'd like to try is a dialtest from here, if you could reply to the ticket with a 30 minute window when you'll be able to disconnect your router I'll arrange for this to be done. We can then speedtest on your account from here and try to pin down the issue.

The last test i did gave me these results: 656 kbps (82kB/s) 55 kbps (6.88kB/s)
Which after being forced to cope with around 256kpbs connection for the last 3 years is really annoying!! *please upgrade my phoneline.
Can you please try the same speed test on my line.
Thanks in advance.
P.s i forgot to put it took me 23 Seconds to load the plus.net homepage!
and 17 seconds to load this post!!!!

Part of the reality is that you are a very long way from your exchange. The highest downstream attenuation that routers report, is 63.5dB, and that's exactly what yours is, showing that you're a long way from the exchange itself.
Your connection profile is currently set to 1000Kbps. Can you try rebooting your router and seeing if you notice an improvement in speed?

is there not anything else we can do to make our connection faster?
Ive just run Speedtest.net again and got these results:
683kpbs Download 38kpbs upload - My upload speed has never ever been that low.

Just as a precaution, I'd try changing your filters, making sure that you are connecting directly to the master socketvia a filter and try using a different router if at all possible.
If you see that after that that you are seeing a lower downstream attenuation, then we have a result.
