Moving from virgin to Plusnet

I have been with Virgin business for years phone only. But now it's time to get some internet and they can supply it.
So how do I go about keeping my current number when I change to plusnet?
your online postcode checker says I'd need a new phone number which isn't going to happen!

Hi @John_ I'm sorry to see you've not had a reply back yet from the email you've sent. How long ago did you send this so I can chase this up?

With regards to your query it doesn't really make a difference if you're a home or business user when it comes to importing a number across. As long as your number is active and you've told us what the number is when you check for the availability of broadband at your address it should be fine.

When you've submitted your order we'll then tell you if we can't keep your number and you'll be able to cancel your order if you want. Feel free to post back if you do place an order and we'll be happy to check up on this.

I got a automated email over the weekend. Saying my order has been cancelled. And someone would be in touch to explain problem.

Hi @John_ 

I'm sorry for the confusion regarding the notification you've received about your order being cancelled. When you first signed up our system had problems passing the order to our suppliers and it looks like that was a delayed notification.

I've checked your order through and I can see everything's still on track for your engineer appointment to take place between 8am and 1pm on the 29/01/20. Apologies again for the confusion we've caused.

Today the openreach engineer came and put the new line in.
Now I can't dial out at all and only get incoming on the temporary number rather than my original number.
Engineer says tests come through good.
I hope this fixes itself by the time I open tomorrow morning!

The order isn't completed yet so it's likely that there's something stopping your service from working on a backend system. It should complete before midnight tonight. Let us know if you're still having issues tomorrow.
