Re: Internet speeds terrible toady, taking minutes to load pages

There's been a issue this morning with some websites due to a Level 3 issue

Are you still having problems?
Your currently on a ADSL (Copper) line.

Hi Mathew
Everything seems to be ok now so must have been the level 3 issue.
Would it be possible to get upgraded from copper only  to fibre to copper?
Regards
Chris

Unfortunately it's not showing as available due to you being too far from the cabinet.
You have a estimated speed of 1mbps so it won't show as a available upgrade.

Chris,
I would recommend that you write to your MP asking why BT are not being forced to invest in a fibre infrastructure to support your business needs.  There is this really tempting offer to small business to meet part of the cost of upgrading to fibre ... but only if you can get a decent speed.  In other words, if you are located in an area which BT has not made enough investment in, you get penalised.

Re: Internet speeds terrible toady, taking minutes to load pages

Hi Kevin
Thanks for the reply.
I will have to contact somebody as this is getting to be a joke.
The internet works ok for a couple of days and other days especially when it rains it takes minutes to open a page which is a bit frustrating when I customer is waiting on the other end of the phone.
The BT engineer has told us that the lines are rubbed through by trees which is causing faults and the junction boxes are corroded but nothing seems to get done about this.
I will be getting in touch with my local MP.
Regards
Chris
