Domain Name Transfer

Hi. I started a transfer of skunderwriting.co.uk on Friday and now the domain is missing from the plusnet portal and the domain seems to be in limbo

Whois still shows FORCE9

The business support team are saying its a nominet issue!!!! (I have transferred dozens of .co.uk without issue from other ISP's)

Can anyone help?

I hear @Chris is a wizard with this sort of issue

Kind Regards

Steve

Re: Domain Name Transfer

The button hasn't worked for ages - why they haven't taken it away and replaced to with something saying to contact them is beyond me.

If Chris doesn't pick it up @bobpullen is also good at this.

Re: Domain Name Transfer

Thanks @jelv. tbh I am appauled at Plusnet. This is the first customer I have dealt with that use them. The only reason I am transferring the domain is the lack of TX record support which in itself is unbelievable!

Re: Domain Name Transfer

The business support team saying it's a Nominet issue demonstrates how poor the knowledge base within Plusnet has become in recent years. There's only a few left like @Chris and @bobpullen who have a good breadth of knowledge.

https://www.nominet.uk/whois/?query=skunderwriting.co.uk#whois-results shows it is still with Plusnet and they haven't transferred it out.

Re: Domain Name Transfer

Yes it is very frustrating. Customer is very unhappy as they are very reliant on their email

Looks like I am going to have to go down the Nominet route 😞

Re: Domain Name Transfer

Oh Dear god.........How can PlusNet call themselves a service provider when they don't provide a service. Their just a Point of Presence! This is all  very frustrating.

I'm about to do the same for next weekend with one of my customers. I hade hoped that these issues I'm reading here were the exception rather than the rule. We've already lost email for a day earlier this month when PN decided to add the Static IP ranges to the SPAMHAUS Policy Block List(PBL).

I think I'll just pay Nominet my £10 and get them to do it for me Cry

Re: Domain Name Transfer

Hi Steve,

From looking at your account I believe this has since been resolved?

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.
