Both ADSL lines playing up - Problem in the area?

Hi.  Have got plusnet ADSL (annex M) and a backup ADSL line from another ISP..
Both are playing up today so I am guessing that there is a problem in the area rather than a problem with Plusnet.
Is there a way I can find out?
Leeds area (plusnet user = bcrtbroadband).

Re: Both ADSL lines playing up - Problem in the area?

I've not received any notifications of issues in that area and I'm not seeing any immediate issues on that account. I'm assuming both lines are in the same building, are there any building works going on at all?

I don't know.
Have rebooted the router so will see if that stabilises things.
Ping plot attached.
Will see if there are any building or road works (or floods).

Hi cjags,
I am working on your account and ticket this morning.
I'll contact you when I have a full set of diagnostics to let you know what I find.

Re: Both ADSL lines playing up - Problem in the area?

Your ticket is now updated with diagnostics.  Following our call, I have also included the 14 day Reactive Repair Graph which did indicate some errors at the start of the month, but has been error free in the last 10 days.
I've also noted the SNR upstream has spiked a little for the last 2 days.  Please can you try the Quiet Line test by plugging in a handset to the line and dialling 17070 using Option 2.
It's also worth checking with the other ISP to get similar data.  If there is a problem on that other line, it could in tehory be affecting our line with added noise, causing the SNR spike and potential increase in latency you are seeing.
You can either update my ticket on your account, or call us on the support number I've placed on the ticket too.
Many thanks for taking time to speak with me this morning. Smiley

Re: Both ADSL lines playing up - Problem in the area?

Many thanks for looking into this.
After being stable all night, it looks like both lines (Plusnet and other ISP) are now having trouble.
It started Just after 10am.
Must be some work going on somewhere.

Re: Both ADSL lines playing up - Problem in the area?

Still getting packet loss on both lines during the day (but not at the weekend).
I am not on the site so can't do the 17070 test.
I have asked if anyone on site can do this but have not been successful.
Are you able to get BT out to check the line (during the day when it is playing up)?
I understand we might nave to pay if there isn't a fault with the line.

Have now lost Plusnet completely.
Modem is unable to login to PLusnet.
Is this a hangover from the weekend?
