Additional DNS records for domainname.org.uk?

We have a new website not hosted at Plusnet. I have set up additional DNS records as follows:

Left field	Type	Pri	Right field
www	a		185.17.181.47
admin	a		185.17.181.47
home	a		185.17.181.47

www.cairnhome.org.uk works fine but just typing into a browser cairnhome.org.uk isn't working, it takes the user to our old webpage hosted by Plusnet. What am I doing wrong or missing?

You need an "empty" A record adding for the 'naked' domain name.

Forgive my imprecise terminology....

You leave the left hand side blank and put the host IP address on the right.

You should end up with something like @.cairnhome.org.uk

I tried that but it won't accept as "left and right fields are mandatory"

try just putting an @ symbol in the left field....

Put cairnhome.org.uk. in the left field (note the full stop at the end - that's necessary).
