i connect at 8128 down, and 448 up, but router reports i can get 9888 down, and 1108 up
whilst i am on the upto 8mb package, why cant i get the full capable speed?
my area is not LLU enabled, and no fibre (i live in the sticks)

From your router stats it would appear that you are on ADSL1.
Your line will support speeds of around 14000kbps if your exchange has been enabled for 21CN / ADSL2+.
I recommend that you enter your details here and see if it says you can get ASDL2+.

this has appeared since only a couple of days ago (last checked it on friday last week)
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU, but thats it.
does that mean i can only get it at your suggested 14000 thru talktalk, or can plusnet use this? (they are not on that list)

cyclopops,
If talktalk are showing in the list, then they will almost certainly be able to supply ASDL2+, as long as their LLU equipment is not full.
Plusnet will not show up in that list as they do not own their own equipment, so if you want to know if plusnet will be able to supply it then you need to look for the entry highlighted in red:

put you phone No or exchange in here http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search, does it say that your exchange is 21cn enabled in the middle of the data?
also what does BT say https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html
dont touch Talk Talk with a barge pole

From what I can see, although Talktalk are at the exchange, it's still showing BT as the sole provider at the exchange, so their service is probably shared rather than LLU. But no, from what I can tell there's no 21CN and no planned date either.

thanks for the info guys, but i think you got the wrong end of what i was asking
why cant i have the 9888 that my router shows my line is capable of.
in the days of dialup 56k, i was geting more than the normal speeds ( i must have good lines)
in other words my line went as fast as it could, why wont it do that now?

Because ASDL1 is limited by design to 8128kbps
