Re: what router is good for wireless range?

I've got same router, what I did was, I had a Linksys WRT160N router (acts as access Point)  I connected to the internet port and connected the other end to the TechniColor. So I get better WiFi connectivity.

If it is of any help my Billion 7800n has tested range of 25 metres via an insulated external wall.

Re: what router is good for wireless range?

Billion 7800n is a great router for wireless range but I could never get it to work with airprint from our iPads.
If you have got the cash Apple AirPort Extreme is good for range and it is easy to extend with additional airports. However, you do pay over the odds for the simplicity and standard functionality but it is easy to configure them from an iPad with the airport utility app.
If you have an Android phone you may want to get one of the wireless network apps first to ensure you have selected the best wireless channel in respect of interference from other routers in the locality.

Re: what router is good for wireless range?

I've looked on amazon and their is a Tenda W311R Mbps Wireless Broadband Router for £12.95 and the advantages of this router is:
Delivers up to 150Mbps wireless speed
Enhanced Wireless Range
Advanced WPA/WPA2 protects data and privacy
so is this a good router to choose or not?

Re: what router is good for wireless range?

i would take a guess that it's unlikely to better than the supplied router.
in fact i'd probably suggest it is greatly inferior.
as i said, you get what you pay for.

Perhaps something like http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/TP+Link+TL-WA750RE+150Mbps+Universal+Wi-Fi+Range+... might help?

Re: what router is good for wireless range?

it looks like it might work, do you connect it to the router using an Ethernet cable?

you said it was a router, not an access point.
even so, at £12.95 the quality is bound to be poor at best.

Re: what router is good for wireless range?

Please excuse me if this is bad manners, but may I butt in to ask Aldabbagh to contact me (look for, and use, the topic "Using Plusnet-supplied TG582n Router").
