If you have got the cash Apple AirPort Extreme is good for range and it is easy to extend with additional airports. However, you do pay over the odds for the simplicity and standard functionality but it is easy to configure them from an iPad with the airport utility app.
If you have an Android phone you may want to get one of the wireless network apps first to ensure you have selected the best wireless channel in respect of interference from other routers in the locality.

in fact i'd probably suggest it is greatly inferior.
as i said, you get what you pay for.
