usage limit reached

Hi,
Hi, this is my first post.
I got my partner a new tablet last week and it's really blasted through our 10 GB BB limit. Got the e-mail to warn us within a couple of days, then next day a £5 charge. My issue is I then upgraded to a higher dl limit (60GB) but have since had two additional charges since. When I spoke to query this today I was told that the higher limit wouldn't be applied until the next billing month in 3 weeks.
Happy with PN but don't want to have very limited access for the next 3 weeks, nor do i want to be charged £40 / £50 for constantly going over.
Anyway around this anyone?
