Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

Thanks you, yes, Safeguard is off.  Sadly the DNS settings made no difference.  Screenshot attached to make sure I did it correctly.

Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

If taking the Openreach modem out of the setup doesn't fix the issue (and probably unlikely to but worth a go I'd say), I think that trying another router could be the next step. I'll be happy to send you a replacement if you haven't got a spare around.

Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

I've attached a photo of the set up.  The plusnet hub is plugged into LAN1 - lead with the red tip.

Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

Yeah the Openreach modem is basically a little redundant here.

Could you unplug the DSL lead from the Openreach modem then connect it to the DSL port of the Hub One?

It's probably worth unplugging the ethernet cable from the WAN port of the Hub One as well.

Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

ok, some progress here.  I need to wind back on the statement that altering the DNS "One other thing to try, on your mac network preferences can you change your DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to see if that improves things?"  didn't work, but now it does.

I've set up two 'locations' on my network, one with automatic DNS and the other with the settings above.  The one with the settings above logs in with no problem.

So on this computer with those settings it works.  Logging in on my iPad say, still doesn't work (I've not altered any settings on that).

What does this mean?

NB I'm plugged straight into the wall with the plusnet hub now, bypassing the open-reach.

Thanks,

Jon

Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

Could be an issue with PN DNS, it could be an issue with the Hub.
What is the firmware version on the hub?

Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

If things work when you manually assign your computer Google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) over the automatically assigned via DHCP, that'd likely suggest the router's not doing its job properly.

If you're happy for me to, I can send you a replacement router to hopefully sort this out.

Can you try the following DNS on your iPad ?

Primary 212.159.13.49
Secondary 212.159.13.50

Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

Ok, yes please if you can send over a new router, that'll either cure it or rule out another variable.

re the firmware question is it on the hub manager at the bottom where it says 'software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.289.1.3?'

Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

Your router is on the latest firmware, so that rules that out.
At least you have a work around until the new one turns up Smiley

So that then really does point to a router issue - those are the DNS servers the router should be using.

Re: unable / slow connection with Adobe Creative Cloud

Fix

Cool. I've sent you the new router now, which should land within the next few days.

Fingers crossed that sorts it, but let me know how it goes. Smiley

Thank you Gandalf, Dvorak, I've had a confirmation of the replacement hub order.  I'll report back and look forward to *hopefully* pressing the 'fixed my problem' button Smiley
