hi I have slow internet its around 14mb
but if I use SFTP it's reduced considerably per download as you can see from the screenshots I can only get 300k per download slot. i can keep adding slots until the 14mb is saturated.
If i do a speed test I get the full 14mb(on a good day).
So it looks like plusnet are capping SFTP sessions?
It's bad enough only having 14mb but when plusnet are shaping that slow speed it really takes the pee!
The files are being downloaded from my personal server with OVH in france(northern) it's sat on a gigabit connection.
and is in no way loaded at all, its got spare bandwidth out the wazoo!

If all your threads are peaking at 300kbs have you checked the settings to make sure it’s not the app capping the download ?
If it helped click the thumb
If it fixed it click 'This fixed my problem'

This page suggests otherwise?
https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/about-traffic-prioritisation/
"Some of our older products do have traffic prioritisation applied to them. Our Plusnet Pro 'add-on' also uses it to prioritise certain types of traffic (e.g. FTP and newsgroups) and is more of a specialist application."
It isn't clear from OP's post if he's on one of these legacy products. Server looks to be with OVH so it's unlikely to be a limitation on their side.

That would only come into play if the customer was on an old product.
I've not noticed any slow down from an ovh server that I use regularly.

I believe I have a new product as I moved a few months ago and there was an issue and they couldnt move me, so I had to make a new account and everything.
the line isnt saturated, when the sftp is running slow and can run a http speed test and get the remaining bandwidth.
I didnt have any of these issues at my old address, i had 76mb then, i miss that!
cant wait for starlink, looks like it'll be my only hope!
