Hi , we joined plusnet in mid april this year but never connected up the Thomson tg582n router as provided by plusnet instead using our other router a d-link dsl2740r. We started to experience some problems while gaming (lag etc) so we decided to give the Thomson router a try just a couple of days ago. Once the Thomson router was connected and running we noticed a high pitched buzzing coming from the router which became very annoying. The router also became very hot , much hotter than I had ever noticed on other routers that we have owned. We left the router on all night but the buzzing was louder in the morning and the router was still very hot. We have connected the d-link router back again. Is the Thomson router dangerous and should it just be scrapped.

Do you think it's the same issue as this old thread?

It does sound the same as the link w23. Only does it when connected to the net but gets worryingly hot. Will wait and see what plusnet say. Cheers guys for the replies.
