sudden speed problem on normally fast line

This has been for about 12 hours now.
This line normally support 6.5MB+
I've tried gateway hopping, but the BT speedtest does indicate a profile problem.
Can something be done quickly ?
thanks

Re: sudden speed problem on normally fast line

Something has caused a low synch event, and your BT IP profile has dropped to 1000. If you stay synched at 8128, the IP profile should climb to 7150 in a matter of hours.
Whatever you do, don't reboot your router...

Re: sudden speed problem on normally fast line

HI paulh,
Jaggies is right. Although with an increase from 1000k to 7150k this should be in about four hours.

Re: sudden speed problem on normally fast line

22 hours on and no change, all stats as remain as in my ffrst post and I'm still stuck with sub-1MB speeds.
Not much from CSC either ...
[quote="CSC"]Thank you for your query regarding the speed on your line. Running a line check shows that your IP Profile may be stuck on 1Mb. I have requested that the Faults Team investigate the issue.
Surely after all these years it can't be beyond the wit of PN or BT to fix these issues quickly? It's not as though it's a rare occurrence ...

Do bear in mind it's a Bank Holiday today. Not sure if DCT staff are working or not.

last response from CSC

I have now initiated SNR reset on your line which should increase the profile on your line in next 48 hours. Please retest this in 48 hours and let us know if you require further assistance.

Well, 48 hours on again, and I'm still stuck on 1000K ...
I have disconnected session and reconnected (without rebooting router so DSL session & therefore sync unchanged)
No change in sync rate (8128/832) and no change in stable rate (still reported as 7.15M)
4 days of substandard speed  ....
