Just ran the BT Speedtest and the format of the result is new (to me). As well as the standard test results and an IP Profile of 6000 kbs there is an Assured Rate Test with an IP Profile of 600 kbs (i.e. one tenth the "normal" figure). What's all this about? I asked for the standard test to be run.

After having just completed the BT Speedtest I am seeing the usual format without an Assured Rate Test result. You didn't by any chance use the Beta tester, did you?

Apologies, disregard last post as the Beta Tester only reports download speed.

Hi,
The "assured rate" is regarded as a threshold or a base rate as to which any speeds lower than that are regarded as a fault. As you may know we're not expected to strictly abide by that so it should be considered more as a loose guideline.

Well, as I mentioned, the assured rate IP profile was one tenth of the current actual IP Profile so the Speedtester has cut the ISPs a lot of slack.
