speeddrop why??

having an issue with speed drops on a night, usually between 7-10 ish, last night dropped to as low as 5mbps (down), tonight to as low as 1.5mbps, conducted using speedtest, this is wireless test, router approx 20 feet away, im on fibre 80/20, before 7 tonite speedtest gave me approx 50mbps, only streaming sky go, any ideas !!!

Would try a wired test too if you can to rule out signal problems.
Anyone else connected to your wireless network? Which exchange are you on?

Andy, only people connected are son and daughter, with usual, phones, and ipod touch, im on hetton exchange, what i forgot to add is that ive only had fibre for 4 days, does this need dlm training for first 10 days, ill try wired test and let you know

What were you getting when first installed? When you did the speed test, did you get a ping too?
DLM monitors your connection permanently and will adjust your line if you are getting errors to make it more stable. Ignore whoever told you about the 10 day thing.
Another thing, just to make sure, no one is downloading/using torrents when you have speed issues?

first installed 36 down, 9 up, ping 21ms
now speedtest 3.2 down, 4.5 up, 125ms ping,
no one d/loading, using torrents,
btw im on unlimited fibre 80/21, profile says 40/10

markm9:  SOunds like you are both on the wrong product (should be 80/20, not 40/10) and are affected by the link I posted.  We'll sort the former tomorrow, and the latter should be better now.

Thanks for the reply Kelly, its appreciated, speeds etc, back to normal, by following instruction on link you posted, also thanks for hopefully putting me on correct product i.e 80/20 Wink
