Re: speed

I've checked your line and it seems fine.
Your line is currently in sync at 19331 with a speed profile of 17000. The meantime between errors is great, at 86400 seconds.
Having said this, your connection seems to be dropping more than I'd expect:

We'd only write off a contract for speed issues after this has been raised through our fault investigation process and determining that there is nothing we can do to improve this.
The test I ran on your line hasn't identified any performance issues on the BTW network however it does advise to go through end user checks.
Have you tried our troubleshooting guide here: http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/bbfaults/
If that doesn't help the issues you are experiencing, I'd recommend raising a fault at http://faults.plus.net so our faults team can investigate further.

Re: speed

thanks for reply but up to now everything seems to be working fine when streaming etc but the last time I was with yous I had 18mb and it was working fine but I don't know why the connection is dropping unless its the router but haven't looked at trouble shooting
Do you think its worth getting this looked into or do you think it will be ok I'm getting 16mb closer to min of 18mb and 21mb  which BT say on website

Re: speed

Makes you wonder about the farce of bt and there estimates speeds / min suppose to be 18mbps. never seen oh I tell a lie  Grin I did when I was with yous before .Ive been here less than a month and noticed cs isn't as good as they were. Tickets get answered whenever they feel like it gets better this . Maybe a bad move yet again after all . bloody furious with (origin broadband aka dial up) ..

You'll only get 17mb on ADSL - PlusNET do not offer anything higher than 17mb (other than Fibre)
I think you should be happy with speeds, unless you wish to dig into pocket and order fibre  Wink

We have to advertise ADSL at up to 17Mbps due to Ofcom regulations, however if the line is capable of more and in sync at higher than 17Mbps, we would certainly not be capping the service at 17Mbps.
EDIT: Just to clarify, the profile would be set at 88% of the sync speed, so if the line was in sync high enough for the profile to be higher than 17Mbps, the profile would be higher.

Re: speed

Seems that way.
DSL Checker shows the following estimates:
Downstream Line Rate(Mbps): Up to 19.5
Downstream Range(Mbps): 18 to 21
Since the last time I tested the line, the sync is now 19303 and the profile has automatically updated to 16900. So the sync speed is near enough bang in the middle of the sync estimates.
Also looks like the line didn't drop much yesterday:

Re: speed

@etdsaunders  I wouldn't have fibre as its not worth the money like the broadband isn't worth the money either due to been forced to have bloody line rental but that's ripoff Britain for you

Re: speed

Re: speed

Your line is back down at 3dB SNR and syncing back at 18979, which is within the estimates for your line. The way the SNR reset has gone through this time will put the connection back in to a 10 day training period.
