speed low???

I enquired about the upgrade to BT lines in my area and it has been done, however my speed has increased from 2mb to 2.7mb but when checking I found I am well down on what other folk are getting from my exchange...do I have to do anything with Plusnet to get the better service?

The obvious conclusion is that you live further from your exchange than most people on it.  Post your router stats as per this thread http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,96155.0.html .

I've just checked your account and you may be pleased to know that 21CN (up to 20mb services) are available to you with an estimate of 3.5mb.
I've placed an order which should take around a week to complete.
Fibre optic is also available to you.
