speed drop

since joining plus.net in 2005 i have enjoyed speeds up to ~6000kbps, but this evening (24dec10) at around 0100h, my speed plummeted to a miserly 225kbps and this is insufficient to stream a youtube.
puzzlingly, the upload speed is still at its usual ~370kbps.
is my connexion being squoze?

Hi artificer,
Yout BT profile was limited to 250k due to an inconsistency. I have contacted them and they have rectified this. They said it will take about 2 hours to update,so let me know later if you see the increase and if not I'll get onto them again.

thanks for the speedy attention, joanne.  it's 1847h 24 dec now and the speed is still a snailspace 227, yet upload remains 379.  i did wonder if the squeezing mechanism had kicked into overdrive and spilled into the new billing period.  it seems so odd that the upload speed remains 'normal'.
yes please, give bt a shove.

dunno what you did there, joanne, but at 0730 on 25 dec it's perked up back to normal.  thankee kindly.
