Is there a problem after about 4:00pm?  I have a fine download speed all day but then pretty much as soon as 4:00pm comes it drops down to around 100 kbps    No, I have not gone over my monthly limit for a long time now.  I normally get around 4mbps during the day.
Yes, before anybody says it I know, I need to do some speed tests and post other relevant data.  I'll do speed tests over the next few days at various times and then post the lot on here.  But, for now, is there a deliberate slow down?

plusnet broadband plus up to 8mb
my usage is peak 4.19
total 6.82
have i gone over my allowance ?

ok i think the problem is that i hit the 4 gig limit
a simple email warning me that am close would of stopped all this headache
sometime ago i had a email warning of my limit why don't plusnet  do this anymore?

Yes. BB+ has a 4GB peak time allowance and when you go over it your speeds are limited to 128Kbs which is what you are seeing.
If you are exceeding your peak time allowance frequently then it may be worth changing to the new broadband Your Way option 2 which gives you 8GB during peak times. Just remember the peak period is 8am -> midnight compared to your current product which is 4pm -> midnight.

Ok, but I actually thought it better, following general forum convention all over the web, to include my bit because it is similar to yours.  The more people who are having a similar problem that keep that to one thread the better.  It will actually help you because it shows that you are not alone.  I could understand your upset had I gone totally off the topic and started something that was nothing to do with speed dropping down.
Maybe I'm wrong after my 12 years of using forums/bulletin boards etc?
