Re: setting up extra email address

On the portal under My Account select Email Settings.
From there select Manage My Mail.
For a guide to it all see https://portal.plus.net/support/email/mailboxes/mmm_overview.shtml

Re: setting up extra email address

Remember you don't need to do anything with PlusNet to add email addresses.
You can just use any email eg husband@username.plus.com and wife@userneme.plus.com.
I have always considered setting up mailboxes vis PlusNet as unnecessary and complicated and only needed if you get lots of mail and use web mail to access your emails.  It is much easier just to use Outlook or Outlook Express.  If you only have one account set up on your PC this will collect all emails or you and your wife can have an account each and use message rules to direct them to your own in box.
See this thread here that covers the same question...

That depends on the setting of the Catch All - if it is off you have to set up the new addresses or the emails disappear in to the ether. I'm not sure what the default setting is of this on a brand new account.

Re: setting up extra email address

Hi there,
On new accounts the catch all that Nick refers to is set to off as standard, you can choose to turn this on, or can setup a new mailbox for others within the Manage My Mail settings.
A catch all is best if you wish to just check one mailbox, however if you want to separate or password protect your mail you will need to set up additional mailboxes.

Re: setting up extra email address

Like Nick, I generally don't bother to set up separate addresses, because anything placed before the @ works (as long as tyhe catchall is running)
Consequently I sent an email to a music conductor friend address to:
I've_got_a_big_white_stick_and_I'm_not_afraid_to_use_it@hisusername.free-online.co.uk
He couldn't understand how it got through Grin
