Hi,
I have received a new Hub 2 router as we are due to get a fibre to the property install tomorrow (we are currently on fibre to the cabinet) and wanted to know if i can setup the Hub 2 now the day before in readiness for tomorrow.
I'm thinking that i simply unplug the adsl wire that comes from the master socket to the Hub 1 router, into the new Hub 2 router and turn it on. Then go into the Hub 2 admin manager and enter my internet(plusnet) username and password for it to connect to Plusnet?
Thanks.

You will be getting a visit from an OR engineer to install an ONT inside your house somewhere near to a power socket. Your router is then plugged into it. The other end of the ONT is connected to a box somewhere on the outside wall somewhere. This box is then connected to the Internet via the FTTP

Yep thanks for the info, the Hub 2 will connect to the ONT via ethernet.
Yet, the Hub 2 also has an older RJ11 connection that is the same as on the Hub 1, so today i should be able to unplug the RJ11 from my Hub 1 and move it over to the Hub 2 and sign in.
(and then during fibre installation, remove the unused RJ11 and carry on with the ethernet connection to the ONT box).

@pyeomans you are absolutely correct. The Hub 2 will work with your existing FTTC connection if you plug the RJ11 into the DSL port. It should even autoconfigure with your account details if you leave it for a few minutes.
It might be worth changing the Wifi network name (SSID) to be the same as your old Hub 1 , that way you don't have to change all your wifi connected devices.
Once your FTTP is installed then, as you say, just disconnect the RJ11 , connect the ONT to the red WAN port with the ethernet cable and the Hub 2 should autodetect the WAN connection and work.
NB the Hub 1 will also work on FTTP if you connect the WAN port to the ONT. However it has an upload speed limitation of around 30Mb so if you have gone for one of the higher speed packages it will limit the speeds. It's useful as a backup though...

@pyeomans Yes, you can safely substitute the Hub2 for the Hub1 on your current connection - it should automatically configure with your credentials via the TRO69 protocol. You will obviously have different details - SSID/wireless password, for instance, which you can replace with those from the Hub1 if you have a number of wireless devices connected, so you don't have to reconfigure them individually with the details.
EDIT: @MisterW types faster than me. 😀

Thanks to MisterW and jab1, yep that worked a treat and only took a minute to reconnect.
A quick speed test shows a similar speed that just before changing router which is fine.
Regarding wifi, luckily we already have a 3 disc bt whole home plugged in and configured with everything so wifi working as expected.
Will probably also connect to the Hub 2 wifi as a backup, not sure how it compares to the BT Whole Home setup tbh.
Looking forwards to the 300Mb connection tomorrow.

Will probably also connect to the Hub 2 wifi as a backup,
Be careful, if you leave the Hub 2 wifi on, that it doesnt interfere with your mesh.
Which reminds me, the Hub 2 broadcasts a 'hidden' ssid and whilst the 2.4 & 5ghz bands can be disabled separately, there is a toggle on the advanced wifi settings page to 'disable wifi completely' (which also disables the hidden ssid)
